Drenched

Golden Thought

When you draw close to the Living Water,
you don’t just take it in—
you carry it with you.

There’s something hilariously adorable about a dog that really loves water.

Not the polite kind of drinking.

Not the careful, “lap a little and move on” kind.

I’m talking about the dog that finds the water bowl and acts like it just discovered the greatest thing on Earth.

Head goes all the way in.
Water goes everywhere.
They come up dripping, blinking, completely soaked.

And then they do it again.

No hesitation.
No concern for how they look.
No thought about the mess.

Just pure, unfiltered joy.

It’s almost like they don’t just want the water.

They want to be covered in it.

Watching something like that, it’s hard not to smile.

But it also makes me wonder.

What if we pursued Jesus like that?

Not carefully.
Not occasionally.
Not just enough to get by.

But with that same kind of joy.

That same kind of abandon.

That same willingness to be completely covered.

So often, we approach faith with restraint.

We take small sips.

We stay composed.

We try not to look too different.

But what if the invitation was never to stay neat?

What if it was to be transformed?

To be so immersed in Christ that it’s obvious.

So filled with His presence that it spills out into everything around us.

Because that’s what happens to the dog.

They don’t just drink the water.

They carry it with them.

On their face.
On their fur.
On everything they touch next.

You can always tell where they’ve been.

What if that were true of us?

What if time with Jesus didn’t just stay private and contained…

but became something that naturally touched:

our words

our reactions

our relationships

our presence in a room

Not forced.

Not performed.

Just… overflow.

There’s something beautiful about that kind of joy.

Not polished.
Not controlled.

But real.

Maybe following Christ isn’t always meant to look composed.

Maybe sometimes it looks like being so filled with Him that you stop worrying about appearances.

Maybe it looks like joy that doesn’t make sense.

Maybe it looks like being so close to the Source that you can’t help but carry it with you.

Because when you draw close to the Living Water,
you don’t just take it in—
you carry it with you.
